Visitors Guide to Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore opened officially May 28, 2011, following a year-long soft opening. As part of the Resorts World Sentosa integrated resort, Universal Studios Singapore is owned and operated by Genting Singapore under license from Universal Destinations & Experiences. This is Universal's smallest theme park by land area, but it is packed with fun experiences, including Universal's only Sesame Street-themed dark ride, the original installation of Transformers, the darkest and most richly decorated version of Revenge of the Mummy, and a unique Battlestar Galactica dueling coaster.

Park Map

Universal Studios Singapore is located on Sentosa Island. Take Singapore's MRT to Outram Park and transfer to the North East Line to Harbourfront at VivoCity. From there, you can walk about 20 minutes across the Boardwalk to the park, or take the Cable Car or a Bus from VivoCity to Resorts World Sentosa.

Strategy

Universal Studios Singapore is located within the Resorts World Sentosa complex on Sentosa Island, which offers multiple hotels, restaurants, a casino, and other attractions - all just minutes away from many other destinations in Singapore, including the world's-best Changi Airport. Singapore's MRT system makes navigating the city-state easy, and much of Singapore is easily walkable... if the weather permits. Located near the equator, Singapore's hot and humid weather feels like an Orlando summer pretty much year-round.

Yet Universal Studios Singapore has the lowest annual attendance of any Universal-branded theme park, making it an easy visit on most days. Only Canopy Flyer consistently holds what would be considered a significant wait time in the U.S. parks, so enjoy this opportunity to experience a Universal Studios park at your own pace.

Granted, the opening of the new Minion Land likely will bring larger crowds to the park, especially for those new attractions. But, for now, we recommend prioritizing the unique attractions at Universal Studios Singapore. Once you enter and come to Mel's at the end of the canopy-covered Hollywood, turn right and head for Lights, Camera, Action! and Spaghetti Space Chase to warm up for the thrills to come. Note the showtimes for Trolls Hug Time Jubilee, and plan for that, especially if you will want a break to sit inside for a bit.

After Hollywood and New York, you will enter Sc-Fi City, the home of the Battlestar Galactica coasters. Ride one or both before walking next door to Ancient Egypt. Get some photos in front of the impressive Revenge of the Mummy temple facade before riding that indoor coaster.

After that, it's time for the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, which offers a different ride system than Universal's other Jurassic Park water rides. The WaterWorld show is always a great time, too.

The Shrek-themed Far, Far Away land is amazing, with its impressive facades and the unique Puss In Boots' Giant Journey ride.
