Figment and Nemo. Figment I would remake and bring it back to its original glory and then reopen the upstairs of the pavilion with some new interactive exhibits.

Nemo just feels kinda lame, it’s in an incredible pavilion and I feel the ride does not do it justice.

Maybe get rid of the Backlot Tour at Hollywood Studios and replace it with the Indiana Jones ride from Disneyland so we can have that one in Florida. The only issue is they would probably also have to shut down the Indiana Jones stunt show...

Ugh Stitch! That attraction has GOT to go.
I would love it if something scary went back there, as I was a huge fan of the Alien Encounter. (yes - I know I am being entirely unrealistic there)

Stitch for... a show kinda like it, but with Justin Beiber sitting in the middle.

Now, why would this work? 2 reasons. 1.It's just as scary as the old A.E. 2.Still a good idea, because anything is better than Stitch*.

I was going to say enhance the special effects and CGI for Poseidon's Fury, but this is "replace an attraction", not "enhance an attraction". Anyway, replace Barney with The Wiggles, since they already cut their deal with Six Flags. I don't mean to reiterate this, but over at the Mouse House, Stitch needs to get out. Now.

From Randall Peek

The problem with the Stitch Encounter is with the basic show premise, not with the focal character. With the original show we had a large and scary alien without much of a backstory. The show just didn't really fit with what Disney wants in the Magic Kingdom. They replaced Big Scary Alien with Cute Prankster Alien, but the show itself remains rather static. There just isn't enough going on in the theater to make it that compelling, and the ending just breaks the fourth wall a bit too much. I'd like to see the show redone, but with something a little higher on the scare scale and with further enhancements to the script and the theater.

I think they should make like an indoor coaster out of stich not a show. And I would love to see the indiana jones stunt show getting replaced by a clone of disneyland so they can make it a lucasland or takke all indiana jones out and create a star wars land now that would be huge.Maybe a darth vader super coaster, the jedi expirence and a simulator on track of star wars the clone wars
At usf well take out terminator and stuff around it to make transformers the ride.then replace the whole kids area with a dreamworks land with a how to train your dragon coaster, shrek 4D,a clone of the madagascar at sinagrope and maybe a kunfu panda school of kunfu

I'll do one from each of the California parks.

Disneyland: Tarzan's Treehouse. This is inferior to its predecessor and is not very popular anymore since the movie wasn't memorable. Unfortunately, removing this wouldn't really clear up enough room for an attraction. For a replacement, I'd say remove Innoventions and add the Stark Expo attraction I've heard rumored so that Marvel finally has a presence in the Disney parks.

Disney California Adventure Park: It's not really one attraction, but remove the entire Bug's Land (except possibly It's Tough to Be a Bug) and replace it with a new mini-area themed to a more recent and more popular movie. Or, extend Hollywood Pictures Backlot and add Rock N Roller Coaster, but with a new band (not sure if this would actually fit with Car's Land, but maybe it could be squeezed in).

Universal Studios Hollywood: Replace Universal's Animal Actors with a Jason Bourne stunt show or ride, as it is USH's worst show and if Waterworld is actually closing they will be lacking a stunt show.

Dominick, on my recent visit, Men in Black, the Mummy, and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit had just a long lines...and I like the idea of switching the Simpsons back. From Andrew Dougherty
Posted May 7, 2012 at 4:47 PM
I don't know if anyone heard this but before alien encounter's idea came up Disney imagineers got a green light to build an attraction like alien encounter but based off of Ridley Scott's horror film Alien. How awesome would it be if they bothered to make that attraction? It might finally be suitable to replace alien encounter!

From Andy Milito

Goodness, an "Alien" ride would make me flip!

From James Trexen
Posted May 7, 2012 at 6:21 PM
Well, Mr. Dougherty is partially correct. The original plan for Disneyland was to build a shooting ride to blast the aliens from the movie and save the stranded crew. However, plans fell through and became retooled and rebilled as Alien Encounter at Magic Kingdom.

From Andrew Dougherty
Posted May 7, 2012 at 7:24 PM
What I heard was the attraction was gonna be called Nostromo or whatever the ship was called and it would've been the same main experience but with an alien. But some senior imagineers didn't think that alien or R rated movies fit into Disney but when they complained to the board that green lit the project they were denied. That pushed them to go to George Lucas. He also thought alien didn't fit and put a stop to the ride. He then helped make alien encounter for the much lacking tommorowland

From Dominick D

Alien would of been great, but WDW would have to put warnings galore.

From James Rao
Posted May 8, 2012 at 4:40 PM
I would replace Innoventions East and West with a coaster called New Horizons. This ride would be a pretzel of enclosed coaster track featuring a variety of ride experiences for the whole family. At its most intense setting New Horizons would include a 500 foot drop, 17 inversions, 150 mph straight aways, seven launch sequences, multiple show buildings, animatronic alien targets, and a narrative worthy of Walt Disney himself. Moreover, it would be the undisputed #1 coaster on the planet for-ev-er!

Please note, New Horizons would NOT have hippos.

From TH Creative
Posted May 8, 2012 at 10:42 AM
Without a doubt the Tomorrowland Speedway. Whether you like it our not is incidental. The value it adds to the guest experience is not worth the amount of space it monopolizes. We are talking about some of the most valuable real estate on the planet. In its current state the attraction is a noisy, poor man's go cart track.

From Andrew Dougherty

I'm stunned nobody has brought up a fear factor live replacement

From James Rao
Posted May 8, 2012 at 4:35 PM
I change my pick: I agree with TH Creative that the "Tomorrowland" Speedway really does need to go bye-bye. Therefore, I would leave Innoventions East/West alone and put my New Horizons coaster on the real estate the Speedway is currently wasting.

And, since I am piggy-backing on TH's idea, I will pay homage to his favorite Disney attraction, and add hippos inside one of the show-buildings (however, the hippos will be sporting pirate-style guy-liner just like mine).

At Universal, I would replace Despicable Me (I know it hasn't even opened yet!) and Twister with an attraction based on the classic monster movies of the past. It is a shame USO has largely ignored their vast catalogue of great villians!

From James Trexen
Posted May 8, 2012 at 6:05 PM
I'm going to have to disagree with closing Despicable Me. With Spiderman's refurb and Potter coming to USF, a kiddie ride needs to come in to draw more families and even things out.

Two rides from WDW(havent been to universal so I cant compare).

Stitch ride: the biggest joke of all. I remember going to that same building and ride when there was a freaky alien inside the glass bubble.

Toy Story(buzz lightyear): its a moving arcade!

From Brandon Mendoza
Posted May 10, 2012 at 11:15 AM
I know I'll take flak for this, but:

Toy Story Midway Mania - glorified arcade game. Besides a moving seat and a few random physical effects, I can play this at home and not wait in line.

Transformers - yes, it's an awesome ride, but I hate the Transformers from Michael Bay. I'd rather see Spider-Man in Hollywood.

The Mummy @ Hollywood - it pales in comparison to Florida's version.

Little Mermaid - I normally enjoy AA's, but this seems too similar to the cut off ending of Snow White. Yes, it's said that this attraction is just the retelling through Scuttle's POV, but why isn't there a spectacular finish to Ursula using a large scale ship? Have something stunning like Monstro lunging, flying over Peter fighting Hook, or even the graveyard filled with grim grinning ghosts!

A Bug's Land's Heimlich's Chew Chew Train - Boring even for kids with a long wait.

Star Tours - been on it at least 4 times... and I have to say I love that it's randomized, but there really isn't much that keeps me wanting to go back again after seeing most scenes. Also, I don't like how logically speaking, why would the Speeder be flying so close to AT-AT's, the ground, and barely missing things when there are safer flight paths? The 3D is much better than in the movie theaters, but I still prefer AA's over video.

Simpson's Ride - no, I don't want BttF back even though I love that franchise. It just seems that this ride has ADHD and doesn't let you take in everything. The system isn't as smooth as Star Tours, and you don't have time to process everything if you blink.

Stitch - preaching to the choir... it's not the character himself. It's the attraction. Even as the scary alien version, it wasn't that great.

From Brandon Mendoza
Posted May 10, 2012 at 3:57 PM
I should mention that I don't want all of those rides removed.

Toy Story Midway Mania - Toy Story's characters can be used in a better way. I don't know how, but a shooting gallery isn't it.

Transformers - I hate Michael Bay. Nuff said.

The Mummy @ Hollywood - put something else in there instead of a poor man's version of the ride. Without the faux ending, it's lame.

Little Mermaid - Finish the damn ride scenes and add a climax, but don't take it away.

A Bug's Land's Heimlich's Chew Chew Train - Anything but this train!

Star Tours - Don't get rid of it, but I can't think of a way to make it better. I like it, but don't love it. Maybe a more cohesive storyline as to why you jump to each location.

Simpson's Ride - not so much go away, but update the ancient ride system! And clean up that screen for crying out loud... you can still see the seams of the screen!

Stitch - can go away. Replace with Innerspace or something... anything!

Oh and World of Color - It was cool the first time, but I have no reason to watch it again. Water fountains and video screens don't do much for me. I prefer live actors whether it's LMA, Fantasmic!, or Waterworld.

I'll still get hate for these comments, but I expect that. Not everyone likes the same attractions.

From Dominick D

Replace rides you say? Hmmmmmm where to start ;o)

Universal IOA

Poseidon's Fury - let's face it, just get rid of what's left of The Lost Continent and re-theme this attraction into something like Voldemort's Revenge or something and have Harry Potter take up the rest of LC (is the Sinbad stunt show still going? if so, get rid of that as well and replace it with a HP magic class or something similar)

Universal Studios

Twister is the obvious one that has to go but what to replace it with. Transformers could perhaps go there but I think they'd need a bigger building and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is in the way (plus I think Universal are saving Transformers for IOA when they eventually lose Marvel) Perhaps some kind of Fast & Furious motion simulator could go there instead?

I wasn't too happy at Jaws disappearing but as long as the planned/rumoured Harry Potter attraction/extension is suitably different to what's over in IOA then I won't complain too much.

Disaster

The Earthquake revamp doesn't quite work as well as it could've done, its still far too long and I think the attraction would work better if they took the time to develop it into a proper Backlot Tour attraction with the Earthquake bit at the end. Sure that would mean an awful lot of extra building and extension at the back of the attraction but I think it'd be worth it. You could even add Kong 3D and a Jaws section to this before you got to the final section. Liven it up a bit!

T2-3D now this one I'm torn about. I absolutely love this attraction but I will admit it has seen better days. Perhaps something that's still adult themed but not too scary for the kids could go there. An Alien style attraction would be good (but does Disney have dibs on this as Alien is part of the Great Movie Ride) or failing that, perhaps something based on the classic Universal Monsters to link in with the brilliant Horror Make Up show further down the way?

Epcot & Animal Kingdom

Surprisingly there isn't much I'd change about this two parks as they're a lovely alternative to the more hectic exciting parks in Orlando. It's a nice relaxing day out with a couple of good rides but that isn't the focus of Epcot or AK so I wouldn't change anythng here.

Hollywood Studios

Lights Motors Action either needs a serious revamp or get rid of it and build a proper Indiana Jones Ride in its place (whether this would mean you have to close down the Indy stunt show I don't know but I hope it wouldn't as I love it, even if it does need a bit of a revamp itself)In fact put the Indy stunt show in LMA place, stick an Indy ride next to it (for a mini Indy land) and in the old Indy stunt shows place build a Star Wars Speeder Bike coaster which would fit in with the Endor theme :oD

Magic Kingdom

Not get rid of but both Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean suffer from being very shortened down versions of their original rides (especially when you compare them to the Paris versions) Expand these and make the biggest and best versions for Disney's flagship park.

And I think I must be the only version who wants Stitch's Great Escape changing back to the Alien Encounter, I loved that version of that attraction.

I would personally completely re-do Camp Minnie Micky. Take out the greeting trails and turn the entire space into Pride Rock, and make a Lion king themed area out of it.

The Lion King was (in my opinion) one of the best Disney movies, and it should be shown more in the theme parks !

Here are my ideas for universal hollywood. I may be in a minority of one, but I love the mummy at Hollywood - I find the florida version is too stop/start- though in Florida the fire effects are obviously spectacular! In any case, universal Hollywood needs more rides, not less.

I would retire the animal actors, blues brothers, shrek 4d, T2-3d & the fast and the furious on the tour. I would also grab another soundstage on the lower lot, and move the house of
horrors and special effects stage down there- leaving loads of
room for a DCA style make over, Harry potter, despicable me
and a Hollywood version of toon lagoon. In the longer term
I'd like them to build a phase 2 of HP with a hogwarts express going from the tram loading area to a potter London area in the back lot.

Ha, ha. I forgot to mention my replacement idea- open stage 28 as a music from the movies show, which would incorporate video, music, live dance, etc from loads of movies- including the blues brothers. Being able to see the original phantom sets, would be pretty awesome too.

I gotta agree about POTC in Orlando, having not been on it for a decade, I was amazed how poor it was compared to Paris and socal, also the magic kingdoms small world is poor compared to those parks. Space mountain should be upgraded to paris quality too.

From Brandon S

I would replace Soarin' with the same type of ride but with a Lion King version instead. Even though Soarin' is a spectacular ride, it should be reserved for DCA. I believe the Orlando park should be given a different version, and in my opinion it should be themed to the Lion King, which is very under represented in the parks.
