DELGROSSO’S AMUSEMENT PARK in Tipton, PA
Opened in 1907, this is a small free admission regional park in the foothills of the Alleghenies with an Amusement and a Water park. This park is owned by the DelGrosso family of the spaghetti sauce fame since 1946. Their rides are not unique but they are decent enough for such a small a park. They also have mini golf and a really nice go-cart track for a separate admission.
Best Ride – A Space Odyssey: A real vintage caterpillar ride inside a building.
Pros – Free Parking. Wristband pricing is really cheap with the Rides and Waterpark included. Sundown Bargain pricing. Decent collection of rides for all ages and disabilities. Lots of single ticket rides (.50 cents) for young kids. Food is quite good and reasonably priced especially the Italian food and pizza. One really nice shady spot to eat ice cream or other food. Lots of picnic tables. Very clean. The staff is pretty friendly.
Cons – The Park is really small. Unless you utilize the water park and the ride section, there is only about a half day’s worth of attractions. Once you have done all the rides, there is really only one or two worth repeating.
Their crazy mouse ride is slow and boring, even with a spinning mouse car. Their YoYo ride does not Yo-yo.
Needs a little more shade and landscaping.
Would I visit again? – Meh, it is nice but probably not. Only if I was hungry and happened to be in the area.
