We just got back from UO and stayed at the Royal Pacific (RP) club level 5 nights.

Maybe it is just me but I really like the RP. We have stayed at AKL, WL, CS and CB at WDW but we always enjoy are stay at RP better. The Club Level at RP really added to our enjoyment this time. The "Club Level" is in tower 3 on 7th floor of RP. Tower 3 is centrally located to everything at RP.

Breakfast was our favorite at the "Club Room". Every morning we had fresh pastries, donuts, bread, bagels and oatmeal with all the trimmings. The coffee and juices were awesome. The mid-day snacks were okay and water and juice was available always. Dinner consisted of meats and cheeses, assorted salads, a hot entre' and fresh fruit. Beer and wine (all you wanted) were also complimentary during dinner. There was also a swwet time around 8pm that featured cookies, individual cheese cakes, and something different and special every night.

The room was very nice. Two queen beds, very nice robes, a mini-bar and very nice towels and soaps. The room was very comfortable for 4 of us. Very, very nice beds and linen.

The Lagoon Pool at RP is our favorite. I can't name a nicer pool at any hotel in Orlando that we have stayed at.

The water taxi and "head of the line" perks are also awesome. More to come.....

Randy, I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Royal Pacific in 2007. I too recommend this magnificent and surprisingly affordable vacation destination.

Good to hear. We're headed there Dec. 7-12th...but only in "regular" rooms.

I stayed in a "regular room", Joe, and it was not an issue. It was a bit cramped for a family of five, but we were so seldom in the room...we didn't mind.

And yes, Melissa, the Universal Express Pass that is included with your room makes park going a breeze. You tour when you want without fear of lines or waiting. Awesome perk.

Melissa and Joe(s),

The RP is a treat. Go and have fun! I think that the "club" level was worth every penny. Very good service, very good food and a real nice place to go to "chill" and wath TV and have a snack. The rooms at RP are nice, but having the club room nearby was really nice. I think that the club level benefits actually save you money on food and "mental health" when visiting UO.

The pool at RP is my favorite. HUGE is the only way to descbribe it. I rarely swim in Orlando, but when I do it's always at RP. Remind you of a commercial for Mexican beer?????? I only hope that it is warm when you go. The pool is heated but it really sucks when the water is warmer than the air!

Thanks. I don't think my kids will care too much as long as they get to swim. Ahhh, to be young again.

I wonder what they would charge me to upgrade...hmmmm.

Thanks Melissa. We got the regular room for $129 per night so I'm not sure the $170 per night difference would be worth it. I'd have to drink quite a few of those "free" beers! LOL

I'll probably just pick up a case locally and keep it on ice in the room.

Would be nice though, I'd like the fitness center and snacks and such...

I guess it's all in how you look at it.

I have a family of four, two teenage boys and me and mom. We all need to eat when we go to UO or WDW. I spend at least $10 per person for breakfast and at least that each on lunch and dinner during a normal day at any of the parks. That does not include snacks and drinks in between those meals. (Go to www.allears.net to check the UO menu prices.) So I figure just for meals I spend $120 a day. Drinks water and snacks about another $20 per day. So that for me is $140 a day for four people or $35 per person per day. That's just for counter service meals. Pretty conservative estimate if you keep track of these things.

The Club level at UO cost me an extra $60 per night or $15 per person per night. I would have gladly paid that given the quality of the breakfast and dinner offered. Plus the access to the Club room, the mid-day snacks, cold bottled water to take to the parks, the nightly desert event and the complimentary beer and wine just to name a few extra club perks. Pretty cheap at $60 per day. You don't need to even drink that many beers LOL!.

Needless to say, I had to spend very little money on food and I didn't have to eat a cold burger and greasy fries off of wax paper. Counter service really sucks! But, They had real plates, hot food and silverware in the club room LOL!

Just a thought though. I guess it's all how you look at it!!!!!

Joe, just beware the ottoman in the mornings. Last time we stayed at RP, I had a very close encounter with the one in our room and spent the rest of the day limping around Epcot. Pretty sure I broke my little toe, but that's no reason to skip a day in a park.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Staying at RP does not, I repeat does not,get you on the Rip, Rockit and Ride roller coaster (RRR) any faster than regular park guests. Our hostess at RP informed us that RRR is a new ride and there is no "express pass" even for RP guests at this time . We waited 2.5 hours before getting on RRR on October 17, 2009. It seems that RRR still has capacity problems. Hopefully this will be resolved before you go, but don't expect to get the RP perk on this ride.

The Harry Potter land did not look close to opening either. Lot's of construction going on and it still looked pretty raw. Dueling Dragons was still open but looked very close to closing for re-theming for Harry Potterville.

Thanks Randy. I am aware of that and it's to be expected with a new ride that still has some bugs. We'll see.
