Six Flags Magic Mountain for Plus Sized People?

Six Flags Magic Mountain: What size do you need to be to fit on the coasters?

I was just wondering how overweight/plus sized people do at Six Flags Magic Mountain (CA)? I am 300lbs and very thick in the middle. This is the result of a medical condition that involves medication that causes me to gain weight. I really want to take my daughter to Magic Mountain, but she won't ride the rollercoasters and things without me (she is a tall 9 yr old). Will I fit? How many rides might I have a problem with? A recent trip to Disneyland worked out ok for me, with a couple of small problems, but was 99% ok for the rides. I did have major problems at knotts and was extremely embarrassed. Thanks for any input.

I would say that Magic Mountain would be closer to Knotts than Disneyland (as far as the size of ride seats). You didn't mention which rides at Knotts were problematic, but I'll guess that Xcelerator was a no-go, maybe even Ghost Rider. None of the coasters at SFMM cradle their rider as snugly as those two.

If you were able to ride Silver Bullet at KBF, you'll probably make it on Batman and Scream. I'm not sure about X. Deja Vu is probably okay (in fact I know peope who are too slender to comfortably ride it). Goliath has GIANT seats that make it feel like you're flying first class. If you made it on Boomerang at KBF, you'll be okay on Viper and Ninja. Don't waste your time on their wooden rides, whether or not you fit.

Whatever the case, be sure to inquire at guest relations as to how you may determine whether a ride's restraints can accomodate your body size/shape. I would assume that something could be worked out so that you don't have to wait in line for attractions that you can't ride.

Good luck!

Regarding size at Magic Mountain, The only problem you should have is with Revolution the Ride and Riddlers Revenge. I am about 280 pounds and very tall. I was embarrassed with those two rides. All the other rides don't worry. I had the same feeling with Knott's. I hated GhostRider, I didn't know they were seatbelts not the lap belts I was expecting. Riddler's Revenge Might be a problem. When you get into the ride they have those banana seats, but thats not the problem. There are these rubber things around your waist on the sides. I had trouble trying to fit in. On Revolution, I had trouble with my feet, since its a old roller coaster. If you have any more questions, go ahead and post. Thanks

Depending on your medical condition, you may want to avoid rides. Check with you Doctor.

When I went to Knott's a few months ago, I saw a man turned away from Xcelerator for his size so that might be a problem there. All theme parks need coaster seats in front of their coasters in order to spare people from time issues and being kicked off the coaster.

I got turned away because my shoe size was to big; it was not that long ago either

I am a male and weigh 270. Riddler's Revenge was hell for me. There is a buckle that is attached to the bicycle seat that connects to the shoulder restraints. I didn't want the seat to kill me throughout the entire ride, so I had it down a little ways. When I tried to buckle it, it wouldn't reach all the way up, so the ride attendant had to pull the seat up alittle. Unfortunately I was in the front and he was working his way back, and we got stuck half way up the lift hill for ten minutes. Lots of fun :( But I was in pain throughout the entire ride, buy mainly on the inversions and parts where there are positive G's. They should have seatbelt extenders for this ride that can be locked on using a key or something, then taken off when your ride is over. Well, good luck and have fun!!!
