Disney's first land themed to its award-winning Zootopia will open December 20 at Shanghai Disneyland, the company said today.
The grand opening comes one month to the day after the premiere of Disney's new World of Frozen land at Hong Kong Disneyland, contributing to a strong conclusion of 2023 for Disney's theme parks internationally.
In Shanghai, a new trackless dark ride called Zootopia: Hot Pursuit will anchor the land, which also will include the Zootopia Park Apartments interactive character encounter, Jumbeaux’s Cafe restaurant, and Fashions by Fru Fru merchandise location.
The Hot Pursuit ride will feature a variety of animatronics with practical and media-driven scenes, depicting multiple locations in Zootopia through which Nick and Judy will pursue Gazelle's kidnappers as they rush to rescue the singing star.
Zootopia will be the eighth themed land at Disney's newest theme park, which opened in 2016. For the full creative reveal on the new land, please see last month's post, Disney reveals details on its first-ever Zootopia land.

Looks really good!
If Zootopia were to come to Disneyland, where would it go? I think it would fit better in California Adventure, but where would they put it?
put it on the list of things that could replace the Hollywood Backlot area, or what's left of it.

Looking forward too seeing some footage of the dark ride.
