Happy Halloween, Theme Park Insiders! I can think of no more rewarding way to spend my favorite holiday than with my favorite theme park franchise. So for our daily dose of theme park relaxation, I give you the opening ceremonies for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in both Orlando and Hollywood, followed by the perfect Wizarding World show for Halloween — The Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle.
Let's start with the original — the opening day of Universal's original Harry Potter land, a day that I detailed upon its 10th anniversary this summer: Harry Potter and the Day That Changed Theme Parks Forever.
Now let's head west to Hollywood, for the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. With John Williams and the Los Angeles Philharmonic accompanying, this opening ceremony was the first time we saw projection mapping effects upon Hogwarts Castle.
And now, let's watch Universal's latest Hogwarts Castle light show — a most appropriate show for Halloween night, the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle.
