Halloween 2020 isn't even here yet, but Universal Orlando today announced its first house for Halloween Horror Nights 2021.
Universal canceled the 2020 edition of its annual Halloween party due to the novel coronavirus, but Universal Orlando Senior Director of Creative Development Mike Aiello promises fans the best HHN ever for 2021 in response. In a newly released video, he and Senior Show Director Charles Gray join long-time "The Walking Dead" director and producer Greg Nicotero to talk and walk through the first announced maze for Halloween Horror Nights 2021, Puppet Theater: Captive Audience.
This is an original IP maze that clearly was intended for the 2020 event. Universal Orlando has opened two other original IP mazes intended for HHN 2020 to Universal Studios Florida visitors, and those will remain available through the weekend.

A few months back, I was certain that by the summer/fall of 2021 that things would essentially be back to normal. But I see that now as more of a hopefully outcome and less of a certainty. In any event, a smart idea by UO to plant a seed during this Halloween season for next using the houses that they are mothballing for the year.
This looks fantastic and makes me incredibly excited for next year's iteration of Halloween Horror Nights. Although uncertainty looms, seeing this gives me a sense of optimism that there are good things to look forward to. BTW, the two mazes opened in UO for the day guests this year were fantastic. Was happy to get my haunted fix for the year. Thanks Universal

Under a (hopeful) presumption that things will be trending more upwards in treatment by next Fall, my wife and I are planning a 16 say Disneyland/LA blowout Halloween 1st Anniversary trip but we are already factoring in getting back to Orlando for their HHN too, which we hadn't been originally, cause have a feeling they're gonna go for broke after this year.
