Disney's official fan club announced today that it will push its biggest event back one year from its traditional date.
The next D23 Expo will take place September 9-11, 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center, across the street from the Disneyland Resort, D23 announced today. D23 had been holding its Expos in odd numbered years, but the pandemic has scrambled event schedules throughout the entertainment industry.
Disney D23 announced this summer that it would postpone its Destination D event — which runs at Walt Disney World during years when there's no D23 Expo — from this November to sometime in 2021. That then pushed the D23 Expo back in to 2022.
Disney's D23 Expo is the company's largest fan event, featuring multiple theme park, movie, and television announcements, as well as the induction of a new class of Disney Legends. For the next Expo, "D23 Expo 2022 will be a celebration unlike any other, as we give fans a first look at the incredible plans for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company," D23 said in its announcement today.
