Disney Parks announced this evening that its Hong Kong Disneyland theme park will reopen on September 25.
This is the second time that the Hong Kong park has been closed for the Covid-19 pandemic, having reopened initially on June 18 following a January 26 closure. The park closed again on July 15 following an increase in cases in the district.
The park will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and guests must make advance reservations in order to visit. Reservations will open for Magic Access members tomorrow, September 22, while all other visitors may make reservations starting noon on September 23. Magic Access members may book their visit one day in advance, while other guests must reserve beginning seven days prior to arrival. Reservations are available on the park website.
Hong Kong Disneyland's return will leave the two parks of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. as the only Disney theme parks still closed due to the pandemic. Disney is providing a press update on its theme park operations tomorrow, but it is not expected to make any announcement about Disneyland's return until the State of California has issued reopening guidance for theme parks.
California's governor has been saying that such guidance is coming "soon" for a couple of weeks now.
