SeaWorld San Diego will reopen this Friday for an outdoor food festival that also will include several of the park's animal exhibits.
Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews will run Fridays through Sundays, plus Labor Day, from 11am to 7pm. The event is scheduled through September 27. Tickets are $71.99 for adults and $62.99 for kids and available now from our travel partner. Discounts will be available to annual pass and Fun Card members via SeaWorld's website. Tickets include an event tasting lanyard with punches for six food or beverage items.
During the event, SeaWorld San Diego will open its outdoor animal exhibits, including Sea Lion Point, Otter Outlook, Dolphin Point, and Explorer’s Reef Touch Pools. The park also will stage presentations in its outdoor theaters, including Orca Encounter, Sea Lions Live and Dolphin Days. Physical distancing will be enforced, limiting the capacity in each theater.
Physically distanced meet and greets with the Sesame Street characters also will be available.
California has not approved theme parks to reopen in the state, but it has approved outdoor dining at restaurants and zoos and gardens to reopen. That created an opportunity for parks to return with limited operations. Previously, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in the Bay Area and Knott's Berry Farm in Orange County have reopened with special events.
