The Bourne Stuntacular will open officially on Tuesday at Universal Studios Florida, the Universal Orlando Resort announced today.
The live-action/mixed-media stunt show soft-opened to park guests earlier this month, becoming the first new major attraction to debut after the pandemic closures. Theme parks typically open new rides and shows with splashy media events, but given the current environment, Bourne's official debut will be mostly online - with Universal Orlando hosting a "virtual sneak peek" on June 29 at 7pm Eastern.
We will have the live video on Theme Park Insider's home page, so check back on Monday to watch the show.
Replacing the Terminator 2: 3D production, Bourne's revamped theater features a 130-feet wide by 28-feet tall LED screen, an advanced projection mapping system, and a variety of high-tech props.
Universal is limiting attendance for each performance of the show in order to maintain safe physical distancing requirements. Universal Orlando's theme parks returned on June 5 with a variety of new health and safety procedures in response to the pandemic. TweetLot of good things that I'm hearing about this attraction. I'm looking forward to experience it so I'll skip the online looksie.
So whats next to go at Universal Studioss Florida? My bet is Fear Factor Live... how that attraction has survived the past decade, I dont know.
@Manny Barron: Yeah, the actual TV series is long gone.
Then again, the Waterworld stunt show is about to have its 25th anniversary long after the movie was a bomb so you never know....
@MIkeW: Well I see your point but the difference here is the WaterWorld stunt show has been well received and has reached "classic" status. The actual Fear Factor theme park show is well kinda just there. WaterWorld, the show, has been copied over to Japan, Singapore, and in the future Beijing. Perhaps IOA has some space for this popular people eater.
As for Bourne, I noticed the use of the word Stuntacular and thought it was kind of odd. But then I looked at some old Universal souvenir books and they actually used it for the Dynamite Nights Stuntacular that used to play in the lagoon. I didn't make it out to Florida until 2002 past the life of that show so I never saw it, but I thought that was a clever play on it.

For all those going "WDW is going to delay reopening" the fact Universal not only plans to stay open but debuting an indoor show seems to indicate Disney may not be ready to back off just yet (plus a gamble on the spike going down in a few weeks).
Still seems crazy that folks want to head to a theme park now....
