Downtown Disney will reopen at the Disneyland Resort next month with limited parking, Disney announced today.
Disneyland has gotten approval from the state of California to reopen the Downtown Disney shopping and dining district on July 9. The district will be open from 10am through 8pm daily once it returns, though some locations may have more limited hours. But don't plan to park in the Mickey and Friends garage or over at the Toy Story lot. Only the Simba lot, near Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, will be open for guest parking. Visitors will be able to enter the Downtown Disney district from the west entrance, nearest the Simba lot, or the east entrance off Harbor Blvd. for those walking in from area hotels.
Disney has not yet announced which specific locations will be open when Downtown Disney returns, save for confirming that World of Disney will be among them. All guests visiting Downtown Disney will have to pass a temperature check when entering, then wear masks while on Disney property. As is becoming industry standard, there will be enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures as well as physical distancing barriers and markers throughout the district.
Two of the resorts three hotels - Disney's Grand Californian and Disney's Paradise Pier - will reopen on July 23. However, Disney is still awaiting state approval to reopen Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on July 17, as planned.
