Looking for some theme park-inspired fun while you are stuck at home? Disney, Legoland, Busch Gardens and other parks have begun posting lots of ways for you to enjoy some of the park experience during your new #QuarantineLife. Here's your one-stop page for links to what the parks have to offer.
We here at Theme Park Insider got going right away after the parks announced their closures with a "Social Distancing Kitchen" series on YouTube where we showed you how to make theme park food using official recipes from Disney and Silver Dollar City. We're also now getting close to the end of a worldwide Virtual Theme Park Roadtrip, with plenty of on-ride videos and park walkthroughs from the world's top parks.
And many fans have been recreating their favorite rides at home, posting them online with hashtags such as #HomemadeDisney, #HomemadeThemePark and #UniversalAtHome.
All that's great, but let's get to the official stuff.
Disney
Disney has created an official website for all of its Quarantine Life "Disney at home" content at DisneyMagicMoments.com, but for theme park fans, I think a better URL to get at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland-related stuff we want most is disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/topics/magic-moments.
You also can access a lot of interactive Disney theme park content, including official park recipes, through the official Disneyland and My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World) apps.
And if you're looking to learn more about how Disney makes its world-class theme park attractions, you can study the craft of themed entertainment design through Khan Academy's Imagineering in a Box free, online instructional series.
Legoland/Merlin
The Legoland theme parks are part of the Merlin Entertainments group and have plenty of entries in Merlin's A-Z of entertainment from the Making Magic with Merlin YouTube channel, including "Create your own thrilling LEGO theme park in just 5 minutes!" and "NINJAGO! Take part in a LEGO NINJAGO inspired build challenge with our LEGOLAND California Master Model Builder."
Knott's Berry Farm
You can find plenty of at-home activities on the official Knott's Berry Farm blog, including Knott's recipes to try at home.
Universal Orlando
Universal Orlando has just started posting official recipes on its blog, too, including the Big Apple Grilled Cheese from the Today Cafe and the Confetti Milkshake from Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen.
Universal Studios Hollywood
You can listen playlists of theme park music on Universal's Spotify channel.
Busch Gardens
Just because you can't get to the parks right now doesn't mean that they are empty. The animals who call the parks home remain on site, as do their caregivers. Busch Gardens Tampa is sharing video of some of their animals, as well as insights from their caregivers, on the "Inside the Gardens" series on the Busch Gardens Facebook page.
I'd love to know what you think about all this stuff that the parks have been providing online to keep you interested while the parks are closed.
Finally, please remember that, for when the parks reopen, we have discounted tickets available to dozens of top theme parks around the country on our theme park and attraction tickets pages.
