Lots of parents pay extra to have Disney make their children up as a princess, a knight, or a pirate on their Disney vacation. But now, one Disney theme park resort is offering parents the opportunity to turn their child into a different "character" — a Disney theme park cast member.
Yep, instead of waiting until your child is old enough to ship 'em off to get a paying job at a Disneyland or the Walt Disney World Resort, you now can book a vacation package that includes a shift for your child working at a Disney theme park attraction. The Tokyo Disney Resort is offering the deal, which puts your child in costume on the Venetian Gondolas ride at Tokyo DisneySea.
The "Kids Gondolier" program is available only as part of a special two-day, one-night vacation package at the resort. Children must be between the ages of seven and 12, and will assist a gondolier in steering their boat on the Mediterranean Harbor attraction. The kids will be fitted in the same cast member costumes as the grown-up gondoliers wear and will get their photo taken on the ride with their family.
Like other Tokyo Disney vacation packages, this one also includes Fastpasses and meals — four Fastpasses, one show reservation, one breakfast and one dinner per person, in addition to the Kids Gondolier experience. Prices start at 42,300 yen (US$388) per adult, depending upon the room and dates selected. The package includes one night's stay at the Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, or Tokyo Disneyland Hotel as well as park tickets. The package is available for April 24-25, 28-30, and May 1-5, and 8-9 and is available through the Tokyo Disney website.
