Build-A-Bear Workshop is coming to Knott's Berry Farm this month. The Buena Park theme park today announced the arrival of the do-it-yourself Teddy bear factory store, which will go into the California Market Place, outside the park's gates. The workshop will stand behind Virginia’s Gift Shop and Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
If you frequent the Southern California theme parks, you might remember that Build-A-Bear Workshop used to be over at Disneyland, in the Downtown Disney shopping district. But that location closed when Disney converted its building into homes for the new Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes and Ballast Point Brewing Co. restaurants. So like the former Billy Hill (now Krazy Kirk) — not to mention plenty of fans who have felt priced out at Disneyland — Build-A-Bear has made the trip up the 5 and over Lincoln Avenue to Knott's.
Build-A-Bear Workshop will open at Knott's "Beary" Farm on Tuesday, January 28, helping to set the theme for the farm's 100th anniversary year, which will see the return of the Knott's Bear-y Tales attraction later this year.
The Knott's Build-A-Bear location will offer a special T-shirt for the bears on its opening day, as well as limited-edition accessories for the park's 100th anniversary. And the location also will sell "an exclusive line of customizable cowboy, cowgirl and train conductor themed bears," to honor Knott's old west theme, the park said in its press release.
