Main Street Electrical Parade is returning to Disneyland this summer.
The
The park announced today that its original nighttime light parade will return for a two-month run, starting August 2 and running nightly through September 30.
The parade first returned two years ago, for an eight-month run in 2017 after "glowing away forever" in 1996. (It spent many of the intervening years running across the esplanade in California Adventure as "Disney's Electrical Parade," so it didn't go far away.) The return of this Disneyland classic throws one more attraction onto the marquee as the Disneyland Resort looks to fill its increased capacity following the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, including the returns of Soarin' Over California at DCA and the Disneyland Forever fireworks show, as well as a $99 one-day Park Hopper companion ticket deal for annual passholders.
Update: Disneyland also announced that Mickey's Soundsational Parade will close on July 17.

TweetPaint the Night has been gone since last November. It was running at DCA, which has trouble supporting parades now since the park has added so many Epcot-style food festivals. (The food booths block the parade route.)
I'm hoping for PtN to come back after the MSEP finishes at Disneyland, but we'll have to wait to see if that happens.
Have they announced what, if anything, will replace the Mickey's Soundsational Parade?
Why? This parade is garbage? I’m sorry, there is nothing endearing about this auditory assault of a parade. The floats are literally cheap holiday lights from the 1960’s. The music, as mentioned, is horrid and they already have a far superior version called Paint the Friggin Night. I only wish this parade could be lost in a fire... hmmm maybe they’ll add some pyro and this thing can finally be put out of its misery. Lock this thing in the Disney Vault and throw away the key.
Thanks Robert, here's hoping the PtN returns. It is funny how the MSEP keeps coming back - I saw 'the very last show' on Sep 14th 1991 at the Magic Kingdom, Florida, LOL. I do like it, but seems odd they would bring it back when they have a much newer show that everyone tells me is very good.
The fans clearly want Paint the Night. It’s crazy that they chose this instead. I love the nostalgia of it, but that’s a play for adults. Paint the Night is a much better parade for modern audiences. At least ship it to WDW so MK can finally have a nighttime parade again. Seems like my evening isn’t complete without a balmy Florida nighttime parade. Robert, any ideas or whisperings as to why Paint the Night, despite its popularity, doesn’t get regular play time? Is it too expensive?
Probably in place to bring guests back to the park.
out if interest, do you think anyone in Disney management looks at/follows these forums to gauge people’s thoughts and opinions ?
