Universal Orlando has revealed the second of its 10 planned haunted houses for this year's Halloween Horror Nights — and this one is an original concept.
Playing off a theme of ancient Rome, Nightingales: Blood Pit will put visitors face to face with the aftermath of bloody gladiator battles.
The set-up is that Rome is suffering its worst drought in centuries and the emperor has ordered gladiators to battle until the rain returns. But if the blood sacrifice was grusome enough that's nothing compared to the bloodthirsty nightingales that will feed on the dead and dying.
You job? Get out from the carnage... or you're history.
(I'll be here all week. Try the veal.)
Universal previously announced that Stranger Things will return as a house and maze for the Halloween Horror Nights events in Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood this fall. Halloween Horror Nights starts September 6 and runs through November 2 at Universal Orlando this year. Ten houses and five scares zones are planned for this year's event.
There's a limited-time ticket offer for Halloween Horror Nights available now on the Universal website. For general tickets to the Universal Orlando theme parks, please visit our Universal Orlando tickets page.
TweetIf done right, this could be really cool! I still have vivid memories of the WWI Nightingales house and it ranks as one of the most detailed, incredible, enjoyable and yet extremely DISTURBING houses I've ever experienced at HHN.

I believe we've had Nightingales befor but that was a WW1 trench warfare theme. The Nightingales were often the nurses if I remember correctly.
Neat!
