Walt Disney World today announced the dates for its upcoming Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.
The popular Food & Wine event — Epcot's original big festival — expands to 87 days for its 24th year, starting August 29 and running through November 23, 2019.
(If that August 29 date sounds familiar, that might be because it's the opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Between that and this, perhaps August 29 might be the day that the mid-day standby time for Flight of Passage drops under an hour? Yeah, probably not.)
There will be a brief, five-day gap between the close of Food & Wine and the start of Epcot's next festival, the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, which starts November 29 and runs through December 30.
Both events will feature food marketplaces and special entertainment, including the Eat to the Beat Concert Series during Food & Wine and the Candlelight Processional during the Festival of the Holidays. Due to the need to set up the Processional stage at the Americans Gardens Theatre, the Eat to the Beat Concert Series will run only through November 19. Disney will announce this year's participating acts at a later date.
