Legoland California celebrated the 20th anniversary of its opening this morning, with a birthday celebration at the front gate that continued into the park.
The Carlsbad, California park was Legoland's first in the United States, opening March 20, 1999. Over the past two decades, the park has expanded to add a water park and two hotels, plus dozens of more rides, including last year's Lego City Deep Sea Adventure.
The park handed out child-sized minifig hands to the first 1,000 kids through the gate this morning. And Legoland is celebrating its birthday throughout the year, offering free admission to all children ages 12 and under on their birthdays in 2019.

I am supposed to be at both actually :) but thanks to my "real" gigs might end up neither or either depending. Gotten too old to deal with park hopping around town, especially when dealing with Hwy 27 for LEGOLAND Florida- though used to regularly work venues at SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World every day, with 3 IDs around my neck and switching 3 magnetic name tags. Brick Lives Matter;) Presume your visit here in Central Florida for the opening of the LEGOLAND Florida LEGO Movie World will also include a visit to SeaWorld Orlando for their opening of their Sesame Street themed area as well, Robert? Theme Park Wars small children battleground has both debuts coinciding on purpose after all;)
