Tokyo DisneySea's installation of Soarin' will open next summer, as the expansion of the Tokyo Disney Resort continues.
To be called Soaring: Fantastic Flight, the Tokyo DisneySea installation had been tapped for a 2019 debut, but the announcement from resort owner Oriental Land Co. narrows that window to the summer season. This will be the "Soarin' Around the World" version now playing at the Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Shanghai Disneyland resorts, with the inclusion of scenes from Tokyo Disney in the resort-specific slot at the end of the show.
Here's the Disney California Adventure version, if this news is triggering your need for a Soarin' fix:
Also debuting at the park next summer will be the Song of Mirage show that is replacing Out of the Shadow Land, which closes March 31. After that, the park is working on US$2.27 billion expansion, including a new port themed to Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan.
Meanwhile, Tokyo Disneyland next door is building several new attractions, as well, including ones themed to Beauty and the Beast and Big Hero 6.
TweetScreens Screens Screens oh it’s Disney not Universal so that’s ok
Because I am a horrible, sarcastic person who cannot resist making an obvious joke...

What has Soarin got to do with 'SEA' theme?
Robert, your dead on lol
Robert: We just got home today from our Disney World trip and your post made me laugh. My husband and I both commented on the distortion in Soarin’. I love that ride, but it loses its magic when scenes are tilting sideways.
@80 the ride will be located in the Mediterranean Harbor and will be themed to da Vincis flying machine concepts.

Surprised it's taken so long to get their own version. It's a universal film so no need to change it for Japanese audiences and should work out well there. Curious where it goes but it should be a good addition Japan fans have wanted.
