Six Flags Magic Mountain has opened CraZanity, a 170-foot Zamperla Giant Discovery that takes the crown as the world's tallest pendulum ride.
Swinging 40 riders at a time up to 75 mph over the Valencia, Calif. park's skyline, CraZanity offers the potential of some impressive views... assuming you are fearless enough to keep your eyes open for it, of course. Even if you are, at these speeds, a blink can mean you miss the apex. Fortunately, the next swing up is just a moment away.
I apologize that a schedule conflict kept me from being able to attend the media opening or to send a correspondent. One Theme Park Insider reader's review of the soft-opening for the ride was, um, not enthusiastic. I am eager to hear what other readers have to say about this new thrill ride over on our CraZanity reader ratings page.

I happened to be at the park on Thursday and saw the media opening ceremony and also got to ride it during the soft opening later in the day. I thought it was a fun ride and I enjoyed it!
I was there Wednesday, they were operating and letting day Guests ride, very cool. It's so much more fun than expected.
Regardless how tall....it's still just a pendulum ride.

I happened to be at the park on Thursday for the media opening, and was able to ride it later in the day when it soft opened, and I thought it was a fun ride!
