Each of the 250 rooms in the hotel is decorated with Lego characters and themes, including Royal Princess, Knights and Dragons, and Magic Wizard. The rooms include bunk-bed sleeping areas for the kids, with a separate sleeping area for the grown-ups. Here's a look around:
Located just outside the Legoland California main gate, across from the Legoland Hotel, the Legoland Castle Hotel also offers the Dragon's Den table-service restaurant (with free breakfast for guests), play areas in the courtyard, nightly entertainment for kids, and early access to the park for guests.
With the original Legoland Hotel, the resort now offers two hotels, the original Legoland California theme park, a water park and the SeaLife aquarium for guests. The theme park will open a new Lego City Deep Sea Adventure submarine ride later this year.
TweetSo... it looks like something an eight-year-old would build with a bunch of Lego?
It looks like a motel. An 8 year old can build pretty complex sets. It’s not terrible looking just a bit dull. I’m sure the inside is nice. Just a bit bland on the exterior. The dragon roller coaster has blue faux turret spires if I’m not mistaken. Simple things like that would have made the exterior more appealing.
Those toilet seats are going to hurt.
I see that the original Legoland Hotel still has rooms themed to Pirates, Adventure, and Kingdom (which is essentially the same theme as the new Legoland Castle hotel), plus Lego Friends and Ninjago, which were added later on.
You'd think the kingdom themed rooms in the old hotel would be a lot less popular, now that the new hotel is open. Maybe the knights and dragons theming of the entrance and interior of the Legoland Hotel will be changed out soon, if it hasn't been already.
People don’t get it. It’s not a cheap out. It is designed to look like it was built with LEGOs. If that aesthetic does not appeal to you, you’re not the target market.
I can't wait to go! We loved the Legoland Hotel. Totally catering to the kids and adults. We will be going to the castle for another Legoland experience in September!
There are three new themes in castle hotel - they are not the same as the first hotel. Dragon Knights, Princess & Wizard themed.
If the goal was to make it look like it was made out of lego, I'd say it failed. It looks like a bog standard building with a cheap facade, but wth some expensive lego props. If you're going to make a lego themed hotel, make it look like its actually made out of lego.
To me, the hotel exterior looks fine, it looks like a stockade type castle, not the Disney type fairy type castle with slender towers. It doesn't look like it's made of Legos, nor does it need to. It's just a kid's castle.

It’s so... boxy... there is no faux elevation, color changes, roofed turrets, etc to break up the building.
