Universal Studios Hollywood has started selling tickets for an after-hours, hard-ticket party celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park.
The Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Celebration will run on Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 at the park. The event will include a special screening of the original Jurassic Park movie at the CityWalk AMC Theaters, as well as in-park entertainment and exhibits and access to Jurassic Park: The Ride and select other attractions.
Universal will be allowing visitors to wear costumes to the event (but no masks) and will be selling alcohol, both of which are departures from the park's big annual after-hours, hard-ticket event, Halloween Horror Nights.
Tickets cost $69 for the event, and Universal is selling a day/night combo ticket that includes regular park admission before the event, for $129. Annual passholders can get $5 off the regular price when following the special pricing link on Universal's website.
TweetI’d rather see a Harry Potter event. The next Fantastic Beasts sequel is coming soon.
Unlike Fantastic Beasts, Jurassic Park is owned by Universal. That's not to say they can't do anything for that too, but its not surprising that Universal is celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of its most successful films and film franchises.
where was the love for Back to the Future in 2015?
Personally, I'd love to see a "Celebration of Harry Potter"-style presentation with actors and behind-the-camera artists from the films. But we seem to be getting a film screening in lieu of that.
This event also strikes me as a "wet run" to see the reaction to alcohol sales at an after-hours event at USH. If this goes well, will it entice Universal to resume alcohol sales at Halloween Horror Nights?
Um ... Costumes? Movies? ... Now eventually you do plan to have dinosaurs at your dinosaur event, right?

See what I did there?
Yes!!!!!
They need to do a short version of the tour that only features the big attractions like Earthquake, Kong, and Fast and Furious. This should be the nighttime tour only.
Very applicable to this post, Anton. Nice work!

I hope they do something like this in Orlando.
