Tickets cost $129 plus tax for ages 10 and up ($124 for kids 3-9) and include admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios from 7pm to midnight, enhanced performances of the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks and Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show, expanded Star Wars character meet and greets, specialty food and merchandise (hello, eBay!) and a panel discussion on the park's upcoming Star Wars land. Tickets are available on Disney's website.
Disney World first ran the Galactic Nights event last April, effectively replacing the Star Wars Weekends event that ran for years in the park during normal operating hours each spring.
Much of the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park now stands behind construction walls as Disney builds a new Toy Story Land for next summer and the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land for 2019. That's pinched capacity in the park and made it tough venue for something like the old Star Wars Weekends, though a limited-capacity, after-hours event can still work. And that, conveniently enough for Disney, also allows the company to make the event an extra charge, as well.
Star Wars: Galactic Nights joins Disney's other upcharge, after-hours parties, including Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney After Hours.
TweetIt’s great to see Universal researching immersive hotel stays after WDW announced the STAR WARS hotel experience.
It’s great to see Universal copying WDW’s STAR WARS projection show with the Potter show.
I don’t think Universal is “desperately force-feeding the public” in everything Potterverse.
It’s also great to see Universal eliminating a true thrill ride and replacing, like WDW, with a family coaster.
