Disneyland Paris announces plans for its 25th anniversary

October 17, 2016, 8:30 AM · The Disneyland Paris Resort will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year. So what's happening for the party?

Disney today announced several new shows and attraction overlays for the anniversary, which officially kicks off March 26, 2017. A new castle projection show, Disney Illuminations, will replace Disney Dreams for the anniversary, featuring Mickey Mouse conducting a multimedia performance that "will transport Guests to a location where the stories of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Frozen and the motion pictures of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean will come to life before guest’s astonished eyes," according to the park's press release.

Disneyland Paris also is getting a new parade, Disney Stars on Parade, and two new shows: Mickey presents 'Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris' and The Starlit Princess Waltz, which will play at the Royal Castle Stage.

In addition, Disneyland Paris confirmed details for its previously announced Star Wars "Season of the Force" celebration, announcing that Star Tours: The Adventures Continue will replace its original Star Tours installation, and that Hyperspace Mountain will take over Space Mountain Mission 2. The new Star Tours will open with the 25th anniversary celebrations on March 26, but Disney did not commit to a specific date for Hyperspace Mountain, beyond "Spring 2017."

No word, either, on how long the anniversary celebration will last. Disneyland's recent 60th anniversary Diamond Celebration ran for over 15 months, from late May 2015 to early September 2016.

October 18, 2016 at 9:23 AM · Awesome! Maybe for their 50th anniversary, they'll add a new attraction!
October 18, 2016 at 12:44 PM · Finally! Other than Ratatouille, Disneyland Paris has not done anything with the parks. It's about time they update Star Tours. The Adventure Continues has been at other parks world wide since 2011. Hyperspace Mountain is a nice addition too. I enjoyed the ride at Disneyland. The new firework and parades should be nice as well.

Now, the question is, will Disneyland Paris continue to expand? The Walt Disney Studios Park, especially, needs major updates. In all honesty, the park is a mess. Other than a few things, it's really not a great park. I hope they add Marvel Land in the future? As well as some new, innovative rides.

October 19, 2016 at 11:11 AM · Well hopefully this is just a start to get Disneyland Paris wherenit needs to be. So much unfilled potential with these two parks especially Walt Disney Studios but we have to see. Right now its just cheap steamers and balloons on a garbage truck & calling it good
