Legoland Florida posts video construction update

June 22, 2011, 2:15 PM · General Manager Adrian Jones hosts this video tour around the Legoland Florida, now under construction in Winter Haven, Florida for an October 15 opening. Most of the images are from the other Legoland parks, though there are a few construction shots of the Florida park within.

While we're talking Legoland, I just added a bunch of great pictures from last weekend's Lego Star Wars Day at Legoland California to our Facebook page. We also have a video interview with one of the Legoland California Master Model Builders, shot inside the Legoland Model Shop, that we'll be posting later this week.

Update: And here's the video, an interview with Master Model Builder Ryan Ziegelbauer, who shares some tips and secrets from inside the Lego Model Shop:

This looks like it will be an exciting place to visit and experience something quite different from what is available in Orlando or Tampa. I am really pleased to see that they have preserved the original 30 acre park that was historic Cypress Gardens. This looks like it will be a quiet place where children and their families will be able can spend some time experiencing the beauty that is Florida. I really hope that people will come and spend several days in the Winter Haven area and see some of the marvelous things we have available in Polk County. Winter Haven will make a wonderful base for such adventures. People should keep in mind that there is an Amtrak stop in Winter Haven about ten minutes from Legoland Florida. I think it would be wonderful for a family to come here on the train, an experience many children have yet to have. They can rent a car or use our public transportation and avoid hastles of airports and long drives. How wonderful to have a new bright and refreshing experience in the making. We have our seasons pass for Legoland Florida and look forward to some wonderfully rewarding visits! October 15 opening day will be here before we know it!!!!

I was hoping that they would expand, pump up their attractions and aim for a broader demographic. Also, the price still is steep for a small amount of attractions, and especially for those without kids who would be able to enjoy all the attractions. I'll probably go once and unless they decide to add more things for all ages, probably won't go again.

It has been fun to watch my kids grow up enjoying the park but my oldest now 12 is already starting to show her disinterest in all the attractions.
