Dave and Busters coming to Orlando

Note from Robert: Am I the only one who remembers when that was the Caruso's Palace building? Anyway, Dave and Busters (think: Chuck E. Cheese's for grown-ups, if you're not familiar with the chain) seems to me a perfect fit for I-Drive. So perfect that I wonder why I hadn't noticed there wasn't one there before.

June 25, 2010 at 4:33 PM · I am beginning to think Greater Kansas City is a testing ground for Orlando eating establishments. Raglan Road, T-Rex, Dave & Busters... what's next, Backfire BBQ? Hey, we may not have a very good amusement park but we definitely have good (I use that term loosely) eats!

I actually never been to Dave's, since there isn't one any where near here. But hearing that new things are going to Orlando, and empty spaces are being fill is always good news in my book. Still if I got to hear that Eat n play commercial one more time, I think I would go crazy. Man, did they play that thing lots of times!

June 26, 2010 at 5:16 PM · I don't know how that D&B will hold up against everything else from a tourism aspect, but the locals will surely take advantage of one in the area. The closest I know O-Town has for college kids and older of that sort is Friggin' and Keglers (I think that's what it's called). And that place is always packed, it will be nice having another alternative for the locals. Those are my two cents.

June 27, 2010 at 2:51 PM · GREAT! I've been to one in Maryland, Atlanta, Dallas, San Antonio, Jacksonville, now Orlando!!! Funny...I just submitted a survey from Jacksonville requesting one in Orlando. Within the last year I moved from the Panhandle of Florida to Altamonte Springs and D&B is one of the biggest things I know of that we are missing...Just in time for my daughter's teenage years! Excellent food, excellent prices, and lots of fun. Now we can get lots of good use out of our gold cards!

June 28, 2010 at 6:50 AM · I remember Caruso's! AND King Henry's Feast next door where the Olive Garden is now... :) I do love Dave & Buster's and think this is a perfect fit for Orlando, I just hope the I-Drive community can support it as it's not a quick & cheap food location.

June 28, 2010 at 3:37 PM · What's good about DnB's is that all of the branches are linked together (except the Oahu, HI one for some reason)so your card that you use to play games can be used at different locations.

I agree, it's best described as a Chuck E. Cheeze's for grown ups. But everyone who enjoys places like Dave and Busters has to be in touch with their inner child right?

June 29, 2010 at 9:21 AM · I remember Caruso's, it was next to King Henry's feast. I can remember when the only things between Orlando and Disney World were Jellystone Park campground and a Stuckey's.

June 29, 2010 at 12:29 PM · D&B is cool, we used to frequent the one in Denver, Colorado when we lived there. However, there was also a place there called Fat City which was truly for the entire family. You walk in and on both sides were bowling alleys, in the back was minature golf, there was also regular skating as well as ice skating, laser tag and a crap load of D&B type video games/entertainment. They even had a bar there. Nothing like a one-stop shop for every age member of the family.

Don't know if Fat City is around anymore... it's been awhile since we visited. But we always enjoyed both of these establishments. Will definitely check it out on our next visit to Orlando, if it's open by then.
