Mark Priest was a performer in the "Pirates Tutorial" show at the park, where performers lead audience members in a series of pirate tasks. Priest reportedly fell during the show on Thursday, breaking his neck.
Disney officials told the Orlando Sentinel that they had no indication that Priest's injuries were life-threatening. OSHA and the Orange Country Sheriff are now investigating.
This is the second death of a Walt Disney World cast member in an on-the-job incident this summer, following the monorail crash that claimed the life a a monorail driver last month.
I wonder if that will change a few shows there such as the Pirates and the World Showcase Players
A woman who played Minnie Mouse at Walt Disney World says she was groped by a man while on the job. Eyewitness News learned that the man on trial accused of battering her is a 59-year-old grandfather.
The young woman says she was greeting children in "Toon Town" at the Magic Kingdom when the man groped her.
"Well, he just came at me. He came at me and grabbed my breasts," she stated in court."
-------So, I thought those types of costume were heavily shaped and padded, and therefore you wouldn't actually "Feel" anything.
Who's to say that the guy wasn't fooling around and pretending to grab them for pictures.
Does seem a bit severe to be taking this to court. Note that it say "A woman WHO played", not Who plays.
Wondering if this is another $$$ making lawsuit.
I just reported the story to the Blog Flume because I thought it was bizare that a fall from such a low height can cause so much damage to a person. Makes you think twice about being King Arthur in the World Showcase Players performance!
THE HOLY GRAIL! GRAIL! GRAIL! HUMMPH!
