Welp, let's say goodbye to Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket

New permit information is showing that universal wants to remove RRR and replace it with another attraction. This ride is a maintenance nightmare, rough as they come, and an eyesore. I'm thinking that with a more "modern" take on universal ride design the New York section of the park could be drastically improved. RRR was outdated in both theme and technology, so I'm ready to see a replacement. A notice of commencement could indicate that Intamin is the manufacturer. Could we be seeing Fast&Furious New York drift? Or something else entirely? Is this a net positive for USF?

I just hope it's another coaster ... Comcast hasn't opened a new coaster in months!

Hey TH Creative - Maybe they can repaint it and call it something like - Rocket Bayou Adventure.....

HAHAHAHHAAAAH

Happy New Year!!

@ Brian - That's unfair, they could have just taken an existing, dated IP and slapped it on an existing roller coaster and called it Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket with the Muppets!

HAHA HA HA!

@MLB- that's stupid, they're tearing down the dated roller coaster no matter what. They should fill the entire New York section with dirt and build a cars attraction that nobody asked for!

HAHAHA HAHAHAHA!

My prediction if the replacement is F&F themed is that once its done F&F will close and then they'll build Secret Life of Pets.

Dang it. Now I'll have to go somewhere else to treat my kidney stones.

My goodness this ride was painful.

I heard it's going to be "Rocket Through New York with Jimmy Fallon." You'll fly by amazing props like Hashtag the Panda on sticks and hear songs from Jimmy's Christmas album all year long!

My sources are pretty reliable.
