D23 Brazil just showed us an admittedly awesome looking trackless off-road system that will work as the ride system for the planned Magic Kingdom Frontierland Cars attraction. They've also released some other information that I'm sure will be talked about on this forum, but this is the part I'm most interested in. In the shirt video that we're shown, it looks like a few golf cars bumbling around a closed course. I'm sure it's more technically complex, but it's still surprising how it looks like a car ride and not a slot car system like Radiator Springs racers or Test Track. I'm interested to see how you guys think this works and the technical issues that will most likely plague this ride. Disney is still creating top-of-the-line attractions, it's just what they're doing with them that people take issue with. It's good, but is it let's-fill-rivers-of-America good?
The park announcements at D23 Brazil were a complete nothingburger. The showed some concept video for the Cars ride and how they think they'll pull it off, but IMHO, what they "think" they can do and what they can do are often very different things. The Villains land announcement was completely worthless.
This literally was just golf carts on a motocross track at this point.
