Acrophobia - Does the Fear Make the Ride Better?

April 19, 2020, 10:57 AM

Acrophobia is defined as an irrational or extreme fear of heights. I'm curious if anybody on this site has it and how it affects their experience in the parks. I think I have a mild case of it because there are some rides that make me extremely uncomfortable when I first go on them, and there are a few that I just won't ride like 300' drop towers. The drop doesn't get to me, but the long slow ride to the top is excruciating. So, for those of you with acrophobia or those of you who have actually studied acrophobia, if the acrophobia is manageable, does it make the ride experience better or worse?

I go both ways on that. I hate drop towers, yet the feeling afterwards of beating it is great.
