Theme park rides under construction at Disney, Universal and other top parks
The next big thing in American theme parks will be Universal Epic Universe, which will open May 22, 2025 on the new south campus of the Universal Orlando Resort, near the Orange County Convention Center. - Unnamed Top Spin - Opening in 2025 in Forbidden Valley.

- Wild Oasis - This retheme and refresh of the Jungala children's area opens in spring 2025.

Canada's Wonderland
- AlpenFury - This Premier Rides Sky Rocket will feature nine inversions - the most in North America for a launch coster - when it opens in 2025 as Canada's longest, tallest and fastest launch coaster.
Carowinds
- Camp Snoopy expansion - Includes Snoopy's Racing Railway, an ART Engineering family launch coaster, and Charlie Brown's River Raft Blast, a Splash Battle ride
Cedar Point
- Siren's Curse - North America's tallest, longest and fastest Vekoma tilt coaster opens in 2025.
Disney Adventure World
- The current Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris will get a new name when its World of Frozen land opens as part of a major expansion in 2026.
- Pride Lands - A new land, based on the 1994 movie "The Lion King," will include a flume ride
Disney California Adventure
- Avengers Infinity Defense - A motion-base dark ride multiverse adventure coming to Avengers Campus. Construction starts in 2025.
- Stark Flight Lab - A robot arm flight simulation experience, also coming to Avengers Campus
- Avatar - A new boat ride, set on an all-new locations on Pandora. No opening date yet.
- Coco - A new boat ride. Construction starts in 2026.
Disney's Animal Kingdom
- Zootopia: Better Zoogether! - The replacement for the It's Tough to Be a Bug! 4D show in the Tree of Life Theater opens in winter 2025.
- Tropical Americas - A retheming and expansion of the Dinoland USA land is now underway. The Dinosaur ride will be rethemed to Indiana Jones with an Encanto-themed ride to be added to the land. They will open in 2027.

- Walt Disney: A Magical Life - A new Audio Animatronic show, with a Walt Disney figure, opens May 16, 2025 at the Main Street Opera house, playing in rotation with Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln.
Disneyland Paris
Dreamworld
- Jungle Rush - Roller coaster from Vekoma, featuring an inclined turntable and 12 airtime elements. Opening late 2024.
EPCOT
- Test Track - A reimagined version of the attraction will open in late summer 2025.
Europa-Park
- Grand Prix Edventure - Mack Rides Gameplay Theater interactive dark ride featuring park mascots Ed & Edda in a formula car race across Europe. Opens 2025.
Hersheypark
Hong Kong Disneyland
- Spider-Man ride - A new Spider-Man ride will be added to Stark Expo. No opening date yet.
Kings Dominion
- Rapterra - This Bolliger & Mabillard coaster will be the world's tallest and longest launched wing coaster when it opens in 2025.
Kings Island
- Unnamed ride - Six Flags has announced a "family thrill attraction" for the 2026 season.
Knott's Berry Farm
- MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress - The park's former Montezooma's Revenge is getting a new name and a rebuild. The new ride will feature a randomized launch sequence and its queue will get story upgrades about doomed treasure hunters searching for Montezooma's gold. Was set to open in 2023, but now is scheduled for 2025.
Legoland California
- Lego Galaxy land - New space-themed land on the site of the current Driving School will feature the park's first indoor roller coaster. No opening date yet.
Legoland Florida
- SeaLife Florida - Opens spring 2025.
Mattel Adventure Park
- Part of the new VAI Resort complex in Glendale, Arizona, this toy-themed park will include two Hot Wheels roller coasters and a Barbie Beach House. Opens late 2024. A second park will open in the Kansas City area in 2026.
Peppa Pig Theme Park Texas
- The second Peppa Pig park in the United States will open March 1, 2025 in North Richland Hills, near Forth Worth.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas
- Expanded DC Universe - Adding Cyborg Cyber Revolution (a Zamperla NebulaZ), a rotating family drop tower called Shazam: Tower of Eternity, and a Metropolis Transit Authority monorail ride for 2024.
Six Flags Great Adventure
- The Flash: Vertical Velocity - North America's first Vekoma Super Boomerang. The 1,430-foot coaster will reach a top speed of 59 mph while running forward and backward through a 180-degree twisted drop and zero-G roll. Opens 2025.
- Unnamed launch coaster - Billed as a "multi-record-breaking launch coaster," this replacement for Kingda Ka will open in 2026.
Six Flags Magic Mountain
- Unnamed coaster - A "first-of-its-kind coaster in North America" is promised for 2026.
Six Flags Over Georgia
Six Flags Over Texas
- Unnamed dive coaster - A "record-breaking dive coaster" is promised for 2026.
Six Flags Qiddiya
- Developed under license from Six Flags, the first Six Flags-branded park outside North America will open in 2025 in Saudi Arabia. Attractions will include Falcons Flight, a new Intamin coaster design that will be the world's tallest, longest and fastest coaster when it opens. Other coasters will include Adrena-Line (Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster), Colossus (Great Coasters International wooden coaster), Iron Rattler (Vekoma Tilt Coaster), Saw Mill Falls (Mack Rides Water Coaster), Sea Stallion (Maurer Rides Spike), Spitfire (Intamin Launch Coaster), and Twilight Express (Vekoma Family Coaster). Interactive dark rides will include Triotech's Into the Deep, and the Enchanted Greenhouse from ETF Ride Systems, Jora Vision and Alterface.

Dreams Take Flight - This new musical character revue debuts at the Hangar Stage on July 16, 2025.
Universal Epic Universe
- The next gate at the Universal Orlando Resort opens on Universal's new south campus, across from the Orange County Convention Center, on May 22, 2025. Lands will include Super Nintendo World (with a Donkey Kong coaster), The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and How to Train Your Dragon.
Universal Kids Resort
- This 30-acre park will be designed for families with young children and open in Frisco, Texas - near Dallas - before June 2026.
Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Japan
- Mine-Cart Madness - This new "boom coaster" will anchor the Donkey Kong Country expansion of Super Nintendo World, in the second half of 2024.
Universal Studios Singapore
- Minion Land - Another "Despicable Me"-themed land.
- Super Nintendo World - Another installation of Universal's Mario-themed land. Both lands are expected to be complete by 2025.
Universal Studios in the United Kingdom
- Universal has acquired land near Bedford and is studying the feasibility of building a new theme park there.
VidantaWorld's BON Luxury Theme Park
- Themed to the "Beauty of Nature," this park will offer five new Vekoma attractions, as well as rides from Intamin and Mack Rides, plus a new dinner show from Cirque du Soleil. It fully opens in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico in 2026.
Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom
- Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away - New nighttime parade, opening in summer 2025.
- Villains Land - Now under development behind Big Thunder Mountain, this expansion will include two new attractions.
- Cars rides - Two new Cars-themed rides, one a cross-country adventure and the other a kiddie ride, will open in Frontierland at a later date, replacing the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi
- Harry Potter - The park's has announced its first land based on a single non-animated IP. Since this is not being designed by Universal, expect a different attraction line-up than we have seen in other Harry Potter lands in Universal's theme parks. No opening date yet.
