Legoland California is celebrating its 20th birthday next year. But it's Legoland's youngest fans who will be getting the gifts.
The Carlsbad, California park announced this morning that it will offer free admission to children ages 12 and under on their birthdays in 2019. It's one of the "Five Fabulous Things" that the park unveiled today to celebrate its two decades of operation.

In addition to the free birthday admissions, Legoland California will open a new 4D movie, "Lego City 4D: Officer in Pursuit" in the Legoland Showplace Theater, relocate DUPLO Playtown to a new site within the park, debut new live entertainment with a Lego Friends show and character dance party, and host a "The Lego Movie Days" weekend event in February.
Legoland California this year added a new hotel and a new dark ride with the openings of the Lego Castle Hotel and the Lego City Deep Sea Adventure submarine ride.
Over its two decades Legoland's first resort in the United States has expanded to include more than 60 attractions, as well as adding separately gated Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Water Park attractions. More details about the free birthday ticket offer will be published at legoland.com/birthday, but in the meantime you can sign up for email updates to find out about that deal when those details are released.
TweetDisney enjoyed a big boost the year it did free birthday tickets, too. I am surprised that it took another chain this long to jump on that promotion, frankly.

Seems like a rather shrewd move. They're not actually giving away that much, The Birthday child will be bringing with them 1-2 adults, their brothers/sisters and probably their best friend, if not more, and they'll all be paying full price....
...and buying the birthday child presents.
