For the first time, a Stephen King property will feature at Universal's annual Halloween event, as Creative Director John Murdy has announced The Shining for this year's production. The enduring horror franchise will appear in HHN at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida in Orlando.
King franchises long have been one of the leading requests from Halloween Horror Nights fans, with The Shining topping that list. Based on the film version, Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining house will recreate iconic moments from the 1980 film, which starred Jack Nicholson.
Halloween Horror Nights 27 runs 26 nights from Sept. 15 through Nov. 3 at Universal Studios Florida. Tickets are available now. Dates have not yet been announced for the Hollywood version.
