The star of Mary Poppins (as well as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "Diagnosis Murder") danced with a jazz band on the Disney Dream Suite balcony above New Orleans Square, celebrated in the Jolly Holiday Bakery, paraded down Main Street, and was serenaded in Town Square. Here's a video of highlights, courtesy Disney:
Born on December 13, 1925, in West Plains, Missouri, Van Dyke got his start in local television in Atlanta before moving to Broadway, where his big break came in landing one of the lead roles in "Bye Bye Birdie," for which he won a Tony Award. In 1998, Van Dyke was enshrined as a "Disney Legend" for his many performances in Disney productions.
